Privacy Policy

Last updated: 23 March 2026

Short version: FileBrew does not collect, store, or transmit any of your files or personal data. All processing happens directly in your browser or on your device. Your files never leave your machine.

What FileBrew does with your files

Every tool on FileBrew - image compression, PDF merging, file conversions, and the rest - runs entirely client-side. That means the work happens in your browser using JavaScript, with no server involved. We have no backend that receives your files, no database where they could be stored, and no way to access them even if we wanted to.

We do not operate any user accounts or sign-up forms, and we do not use cookies of our own for tracking or analytics purposes.

Google AdSense

FileBrew displays ads served by Google AdSense. Google is an independent third party, and by loading ads on this site, Google may:

  • set cookies in your browser to personalise ads based on your interests
  • collect data such as your IP address, device type, browser, and browsing behaviour across sites
  • use that data in accordance with Google's Privacy Policy

FileBrew has no access to the data Google collects through its ad network. If you would like to opt out of personalised advertising by Google, you can do so at adssettings.google.com. You can also use browser extensions or your browser's built-in settings to block third-party cookies entirely.

No server-side storage

FileBrew has no back-end servers that process or store user data. There are no forms that submit personal information, no session storage on our end, and no analytics scripts that track individual users. The only third-party code running on this site is the Google AdSense script described above.

Third-party links

Some pages on FileBrew link to external websites. Once you leave filebrew.app, this policy no longer applies. External sites have their own privacy practices, and we encourage you to read their policies before sharing any personal information with them.

Jurisdiction and applicable law

FileBrew is operated from Switzerland. To the extent that data protection law applies to this site, we aim to comply with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (nFADP). Because we do not collect personal data ourselves, most obligations under these laws are handled by Google as the data controller for its advertising network.
